I think I've solved that problem with this list:
R/G Infect Aggro | |||
---|---|---|---|
Lands - 22 4 Inkmoth Nexus 4 Rootbound Crag 4 Copperline Gorge 8 Forests 2 Mountain Creatures - 12 4 Glistener Elf 4 Viridian Corrupter 2 Ichorclaw Myr 2 Razor Swine | Pump - 12 4 Mutagenic Growth 4 Vines of Vastwood 4 Groundswell Removal - 8 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Dismember Draw - 6 3 Tezzeret's Gambit 3 Gitaxian Probe | Sideboard: 3 Nature's Claim 3 Act of Aggression 4 Spellskite 3 Pyroclasm 2 Cystbearer |
Previously I had Flame Slash in instead of Dismember, but I found the Sorcery speed to simply be too slow a lot of the time.
Most of the games with this deck go something like this:
T1: Glistener Elf
T2: Bolt/Dismember a creature, Groundswell Elf.
T3: Bolt/Dismember a creature, Groundswell/Vines Elf. Win.
The sideboard plan is pretty rough, but goes something like this:
Weenie decks: 4x Corrupter out, 4x Dismember out, 3x Pyroclasm in, 4x Spellskite in, 1x Cystbearer in.
Spellskite is a house against these decks, he blocks, he redirects removal, he does everything you want. Typically Inkmoth will win these games, as the ground will get pretty clogged up if you don't get in a Pyroclasm.
Splinter Twin: It depends a lot on what variant of Twin it is but: 4x Viridian Corrupter out, 2x Razor Swine out, 3x Nature's Claim in, 3x Spellskite in.
The Spellskite can redirect a Splinter Twin. Nature's Claim can remove it. You also have maindeck Dismember that can stop an Exarch. You'll typically win the turn after he tried to play out the combo, as he'll be tapped out and open for attack.
Caw-Blade: This also depends a lot on the variant, the Darkblade variant is much tougher to combat. 1x Razor Swine out, 1x Gitaxian Probe out, 1x Tezzeret's Gambit out, 3x Nature's Claim in. This is a match you'll need to win quick. Bolt the blockers, and Groundswell your way to victory. Obviously a long drawn out game is in their favor. Don't forget that you can Bolt a Jace in response to them Brainstorming (which they hopefully will do).
I've been playing this Infect deck since yesterday morning, and I've been having an excellent winning streak with the deck. I think the sideboard is still pretty rough, and could use some refinement, and the main deck could probably use a little tweaking here and there, but overall I've been very happy with it.
Best of all? You could buy the entire main deck for under $50! Then throw together a decent sideboard plan that doesn't include Spellskite, and you could be looking at a competitive deck that costs less than 2 Fat Packs.
Looking forward to hearing some victory stories from you guys!
